Instead of leaping into spring, let’s ease into it with our spring yoga to help remain balanced in body and mind. If we leap from the introspective energy of the winter season to the energy of regeneration and renewal of the Spring season too quickly, we may “shock our system” a bit and create imbalance.
Instead, let’s use the work we did during the winter to help us as we renew this spring.
During the rest and hibernation time of the winter months there was natural work going on within yourself of deep thought and reflection. That time of deep thought and reflection invited you to connect with the core of your being and what is important and true to you. The work you did in the winter months is essential for the spring season so your forward motion may be filled with intention as the power of light returns and we plant new seeds in the springtime.
This is a time of new beginnings… but of what new beginnings?
Did your time in deep thought, grounding, and reflection reveal anything to you? What has surfaced to be essential for you to plant new seeds of this spring? Are there intentions that align with your core being?
What do you want to start fresh and clean?
Is there anything you want to grow this Springtime?
What seeds will you plant to watch blossom and flourish?
This work you did in the darker winter months has given you the needed insight to identify what seeds of intention you will plant this spring – a season of growth with the return of light, renewal of spirit, and fresh starts.
As you can see, we will gradually transition from the introspective energy we cultivated during the winter season to energy of regeneration and renewal of the spring season and the return of more light.
This month we will plant new seeds of intention. We will nourish and watch them grow upward toward the light of the sun until they are in full bloom.
Note: this suggestion of planting seeds of intention calls us to ourselves and reminds us of our capacity to direct our conscious thoughts and energy toward certain tendencies and ideas. We can actively choose what we wish to cultivate in our practice and in our lives and aim towards that. This action can help us pause, take note and reconnect with what already is. We take the time to connect with what we need rather than what others need.
This brings us to the intention of this month’s Calendar – Power of Light.
Spring brings back the power of light! Light has the effect of awakening new life on Earth!
Look at the light in nature and how it impacts all life on Earth. How plants reach towards the light and, specifically, how a sunflower bends towards the sun. Without light there would not be the abundance of plants that are required to feed so many other life forms on this planet.
Allow yourself to slow down and notice the effect of light in nature. Become attuned to the environments that surround you.
Why?
Because the light transforms us this time of year too.
Honor the return of the light. Bring the light into your heart and into your being. Let it nourish you so you can benefit from the powerful energy of light – of the sun! Prepare yourself and take the time to plant new seeds with focused, aligned intent!
