I don't know why I didn't turn it over to Ashley sooner -- I went years letting my problem dictate my life. I'm so relieved by how well the low FODMAP diet went while working with Ashley. Now I can take trips, make morning apts and not have to stress about having accidents. I have also lost a few lbs which I needed to do anyway. I am eating better and not hungry all the time. It's a lifestyle I can have and be happy with. Thank you Ashley for helping me change my life.

Ashley's holistic and therapeutic approach to nutrition has made a significant positive impact on my life. Before working with her, I struggled with constant fatigue and maintaining consistent energy levels. With her personalized approach and support, I overcame my aversion to drinking water, cut out sugary drinks, and continue to develop healthier habits. Ashley's support and expertise have given me greater clarity, focus, and energy, and I am grateful to have a deeper understanding of my health and well-being. If you're looking for a caring dietitian who takes a holistic approach and can meet you wherever you may be in your journey, Ashley is an excellent choice.

When I signed up to work with Ashley initially, I thought I was getting a traditional nutritionist. Instead, I got someone who helped me overcome so many of my mental issues with food and helped me understand how to make small adjustments that add to big changes in my lifestyle. I was able to change my mindset and overcome years of the diet culture way of thinking. Most importantly, I got a dear friend who truly cares about my well-being and reminds me that I am worth taking care of myself everyday. I am so lucky to have found Ashley.

Ashley has always found a positive way to help educate and motivate me on nutritional choices, exercise, rest, and finding balance between my busy work and family life.

OPTIONAL Integrative Care Services!

While significant relief and increased quality of life can be achieved with a low FODMAP Dietitian alone, Awakened Actions’ offers holistic IBS Therapy. Our approach recognizes that IBS is characterized as a disorder of gut-brain interaction (DGBI) and classified as chronic, primary pain (see ICD-11).

Thus, we offer optional integrative medicine based services to alleviate symptoms by focusing on the gut and the brain’s involvement in IBS.

(Optional) Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) for IBS
As part of Awakened Actions’ integrative IBS Therapy you will work with Adam who teaches individuals with IBS how to retrain the way their brain interacts with IBS pain and discomfort using PRT!

How? Adam will work together with you so you have the tools to understand and relieve IBS pain. You’ll understand hypersensitivity of the gut and how to calm overactivation of the brain in interpreting chronic primary IBS pain. In the end, this all helps lead to less pain and discomfort and greater relief from IBS symptoms.

Why Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)? Research continues to highlight that the gut-brain interaction is a 2-way street. The gut sends signals to the brain (pain, discomfort) and the brain sends signals to the gut (anxiety, stress). Through mind-body solutions for IBS we can help manage this highway of bidirectional information to further alleviate symptoms. Moreover, IBS pain is categorized as chronic, primary pain — PRT was designed to treat primary pain!

With Adam you will feel heard, understood, and ultimately enlightened. He is the ever-present and encouraging tour guide that is there to steer you along the way. Adam takes an evidence based approach to healing, and always involves the client in the healing journey. I can certainly say with the time spent with Adam, I now have the tools to continue my path towards a more enjoyable and fulfilling life!

Adam helped me through the hardest year of my life. When a friend recommended Alan Gordon's book "The Way Out," I enthusiastically started practicing PRT. But I soon found myself on a rollercoaster of ups and downs with my neck pain, and a lack of sleep triggered debilitating anxiety. Adam guided me through those challenges with compassion and humor. He seems to intuitively understand what tools will be helpful for each step along my journey, and I know I can always count on him. Thank you Adam, words cannot express my gratitude!

When I initially sought out a pain therapy coach, I was skeptical about the potential results. However, from the very first session, coach Adam instantly put me at ease with his warm and empathetic demeanor. He created a safe and non-judgmental space where I felt comfortable sharing my deepest struggles and pain-related challenges.

Through out sessions, coach Adam provided me with practical tools and strategies to effectively manage and alleviate my pain. From mindfulness techniques to relaxation exercises, he equipped me with a diverse range to coping mechanisms that have had a significant impact on my well-being.

Thanks to coach Adam’s expertise, guidance and unwavering support, I have experienced a remarkable improvement in managing my pain.
