This banana ice cream recipe makes for a nutritious sweet treat anytime you fancy a cold treat as a dessert alternative or snack.

Nutrition Benefits

Bananas are a low-calorie (1/2 large or 1 baby banana – 4 oz – is about 60 calories), consisting almost exclusively of water and carbs and hold little protein and no fat, but PACKED with nutrients. Bananas contain vitamins C, B6, B5, Riboflavin, and Folate. They are most known for containing the mineral potassium. Benefits of potassium include:

  • It can strengthen the cardiovascular system.
  • It can lower blood pressure.
  • It can aid in dehydration because it’s an electrolyte that manages fluid in the body.

Bananas also contain minerals like magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, copper, and manganese.

Bananas have naturally occurring sugars that can help satisfy a sweet craving which can support those who are trying to lose weight. Not to mention they provide a source of fiber which has been shown to aid in digestive health and promote weight loss.

Interesting health benefits of peaches:

  • Unripe bananas provide specific benefits because they contain a specific type of fiber. This fiber is a resistant starch which isn’t entirely digested. The undigested fiber passes through the large intestine and produces an amino acid that aids in intestinal health.
  • Bananas provide the right level of performance enhancing carbohydrates which power and fuel muscles making them more effective than energy drinks for training athletes.

Bananas are grown in the tropics and are valued worldwide for their nutritional value, flavor, and
availability throughout the year!
