This smoothie recipe will make for a nice balanced breakfast or even mid-day snack.

Nutrition Benefits

Peaches are known for their sweet taste and soft texture. They are a low calorie food (1 peach is about 50 calories) and they’re PACKED with nutrients!! Peaches contain vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B6 and minerals such as potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, chlorine, manganese, copper and iron. They also contain insoluble fiber that can help improve digestion.

The Recipe – serves 2

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup non-fat greek yogurt OR 1/2 c kefir
1/4 cup walnuts
2 small dates (if needed to enhance sweetness)
1 cup water
1 tablespoon seed blend (ground flax seed, hemp seed, chia seed)
2 medium to large peaches
1 cup ice
Cinnamon (if desired)

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1.

Blend yogurt, walnuts, dates and water.

Step 2.

Add ice and sliced peaches and blend.

Step 3.

Pour into glasses and if desired sprinkle with cinnamon.

Enjoy!

Serves 2. 250 calories per serving. If desired, add small dates to enhance sweetness of smoothie for additional 30 calories each.
